The Lounge
This spacious living room, has a large picture window that
provides classic views of the surroundings. Skiddaw is the most
obvious peak, rearing up on the other side of the valley with Blencathra
hiding behind its southern flank. To the right, the northern end
of the Hellvelyn range can be seen clearly, stretching into the
distance. The valley below the house is most picturesque with the
River Derwent flowing on its way towards Bassenthwaite Lake.
The
comfortable three-piece-suite provides a perfect place to relax
after a walk, watching the 21" television or video, listening
to the CD/radio/ cassette player, or in contemplative silence. The open fireplace can provide that warm, cosy feeling on
a cold winter's night (though the house has central heating).
Coal and kindling are provided in the Boiler Room, though you
are required to replace what you use.
