Braithwaite village is nestled at the base of the Whinlatter Pass,
three miles West of Keswick. The village centre is a short walk from
Windrush. Braithwaite is a pleasant friendly place, with a wide range
of amenities to cater for your immediate holiday needs.

The
Braithwaite village shop, situated just over the bridge in the centre
of the village, sells daily papers, food and ice creams.
There are two pubs in Braithwaite, The Coledale Inn and the Royal
Oak, both sell food and have good menus. The Coledale Inn welcomes
dogs, so your four legged friends don't have to stay at home while
you
enjoy yourselves. You can also eat at the Middle Ruddings Hotel and
at the cafe at the village campsite.
Braithwaite has two churches. St. Herbert's Church of England,
opposite the Royal Oak and a Methodist chapel a short way up the
road to the
Coledale Inn.
